Who We Are

Years of dreaming brought about The Foxtail Group.  The first Foxtail Realty office was opened in Casa Grande in 1970 by two cotton farmers who were childhood friends familiar with the area and the people in the greater Casa Grande Valley.  John Fearn and Jay Wilson loved Casa Grande and decided to use their brains rather than their backs to make a living.  They were smart, well liked and industrious men.  John used his foresight with Senator Carl Hayden on the Central Arizona Project, bringing Colorado River water to central Arizona farmers.  Jay served with Senator Blodwin Thode to create and build Casa Grande’s Hoemako Hospital, continuing to serve on Hoemako’s Board of Directors into the 1980’s.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Georgia (Fearn) Schaeffer, became a Realtor in 1995. She became acquainted with Dawn Zimbelman who became a Realtor and Georgia’s business partner in 2011.  Georgia’s daughter, Gretchen Slaughter, worked for Title Security Agency as an Assistant Escrow Officer for nearly seven years before becoming a Realtor.  In 2013, Gretchen joined her mother and Dawn at Coldwell Banker. 
Foxtail Realty has been in the back of the ladies’ minds for some time, so when the opportunity presented itself to join Platinum Living Realty January, 2019, the Foxtail Group became a reality.  The same industrious attitudes, service to the community and integrity that John and Jay embodied are what The Foxtail Group hold dear and want to pass on.
